Sony's original forecasted losses for this time were a mere $1b. Looks like things didn't go as planned (imagine that!) as they've actually piled on ~$2b in losses from the PS3.

You read correctly - Sony has launched the PS3 in India for the equivalent of $975USD. That seems a little high, but in India the PS2 is still going for $195USD. I guess Sony's pricing strategy is *tarzan voice please* "take region price for PS2 - make PS3 price 5 ...
